Customers spent over 80 million euros in Zara and C&A stores in Romania

Spain's Inditex, which controls Zara, Bershka, Stradivarius andPull & Bear brands, and C&A, part of Cofra Holding,companies that rank first and third among fashion retailers inEurope, posted more than 80 million euros in sales in Romania lastyear, with Zara being the top performer among all brands on thismarket by far.


Inditex, in its third year of direct presence in Romania, sawsales in this country increase by 47% to almost 75 million euros,driven by the expansion of the network from 12 to 36 stores. Afurther 19 were announced for opening this year.
Inditex's profit reached 17.5 million euros in Romania, 10.9million euros of which generated by the Zara brand alone.
C&A, the third leading European fashion retailer in turn posted7.9 million euros in revenues in one year alone and made30,000-euro profit with 43 employees.
