Enel teams up with Constanţa-based company for 400m-euro wind farm

Italian-held energy group Enel continues its offensive on thewind project market, signing an agreement with a Constanţa-basedcompany to develop a 272-MW wind farm in Dobrogea, with theinvestment expected to exceed 400 million euros.
The company currently developing the 272 MW project, which will belocated around 30 kilometres off the Black Sea coast, is ElcomexEol, part of the Elcomex group, held by Constanţa businessman IonGrecu. According to the Constanţa press, Grecu is one of thewealthiest businesspeople in the Romanian seacoast area, who enjoysextensive political support, with his group of firms being involvedin various activities in the energy sector that range fromelectricity trading to works carried out at the Cernavodă nuclearplant.
