HP CEO: We went up by over 10% in Q1. Demand is returning

American IT giant Hewlett Packard says it will reach 3,600employees in Romania at the end of the year and if demand onforeign markets rises, the company could open a second servicescentre somewhere other than in Bucharest.

The local subsidiary of American company HP, which claims foritself the title of leader of the IT market with its over 3,000employees, posted an over 10% rise in revenues last year, as wellas in the first quarter of the fiscal year, and estimates the trendwill continue, Radu Enache, general manager of the IT giant, toldZF in an interview.

"We grew in Romania more than the company grew internationally.The important thing is we grew on all hardware categories, and sawa significant rise on the segments of servers, networking, PCs andprinters. We have kept our position as leader of the servicessegment, so last year was basically an extremely difficult, butvery good year," Enache said.

In the 2010 fiscal year, ended in September, HP announced it hadposted 126 billion dollars in global revenues, up 10%. In the firstquarter of the current fiscal year, ended on January 31st, HPposted 32.3 billion dollars in revenues, a 4% increase.
