Private clinics come up with over 150m-euro investments

The leading operators in the private medical services sectorwill invest over 150 million euros in medical facilities on theRomanian market by 2011, with over 70 million euros to be investedthis year alone, reveals an analysis carried out by ZF based ondata released by companies. This is a record-high level for themarket and has been influenced by the recent entry of investmentfunds into the shareholder structure of the leading operators, aswell as by the significant growth opportunities.
"Up until now, you could do things with thousands, hundreds ofthousands or with a million euros at the most," says Robert Serban,who, together with wife Georgeta, controls Gral Medicalchain.
Overall 13 clinics have been announced this year, but theseven hospital projects extend until 2011.

MedLife has announced over 20 million euros in investments,Centrul Medical Unirea - 30 million euros (over two years), Gral -3.5 million euros, Sanador - 40 million euros (the investment inthe hospital building amounts to 33 million euros, while theoverall project costs 40 million euros), Euroclinic - 1 millioneuros, Romar - 8-9 million euros (original investment), Medicana -30 million dollars (22.3 million euros) and Medicover - 40 millioneuros.
