Top tenants in Bucharest: ten companies pay 40m euros a year

Ten extremely powerful companies in the Romanian economy, whichtogether employ 70,000 people, occupy almost 20% of the overalloffice stock in Bucharest, i.e. an over 200,000 square-metre areawhere around 20,000 of the companies' employees work.

"I got a job here because I liked this office building and Iinquired to see what companies were based there in order to sendthem my CV," recounted a young real estate manager about how heselected the company for which to work.

Its appearance, usefulness, positioning, and even how well knowna building is, are important aspects for most employees, which iswhy Ziarul Financiar has attempted to put together a ranking of thebiggest tenants in Bucharest's office buildings, a market worthbetween 160 and 200 million euros a year.

The biggest private companies (Petrom and Dacia Renault), threebanks (Raiffeisen, Bancpost, and Banca Romaneasca), three IT giants(Ericsson, Oracle, and HP), and two of the top three telecomplayers (Vodafone and Cosmote) are the biggest tenants inBucharest, according to real estate consultancy Colliers and DTZEchinox, which yesterday answered ZF's request.
